Carini Salon

So here is the real scope. I tried a really "high end" fancy pants salon in Franklin square. It's the type that twirls u with crystal chandeliers , coffee shots or water every 5 mins, and really belongs in the fantasy of real house wives of Beverly hills. No really. It even has a clothing store attached on the corner. . .. note to self: if a hair salon needs to sell cheap handbags too to make rent , turn in the other direction. Made an appointment with a male... Told he was top colorist. He burned my scalp... left my blonde a brass after an hour of bleach and 20 of toner. He had to try to ask for help from a female stylist who does blonde. ... wait what. Are u a colorist or not? I asked what bleach they use... one I have never used but it's suppose to be gentle.... he couldn't even comb my hair because the teeth hurt my scalp. I left and ended with a migraine attack that lasted several hours. So now what? If the super Manhattan hype salon blows where can I go? 3 months later I still had problems.... I found breakage everywhere in my hair. It look like a child took chunks of my hair in 2 inch sections..... I don't want to keep traveling an hour into queens toy old digs just for hair....then I remember carini. Saw a Groupon figured I'd try it. For the price, not awful. I wish they could get my hair near white blonde but it seems to be a challenge. ... even though my girl sammie at European in Queens does it in 55 MINS and no breakage. It's not glamour girly. I could use a face lift. And they showcase alot of old outdated products. There is such better stuff out there that is budget friendly that they could invest and promote but I can see this isn't a salon push g product. It's just a down and dirty need color and blow kind of place. The owner is working on trying to get my color right ...of course I don't know why she doesn't just buy it. ....clarol 7th stage bleach btw and a silver shampoo for 7 mins to finish.... no toner.... trust me .... and my natural hair is like a 2 or 3. ....I get to a 12 with this sh*t no brass.... anyway back to carini. There is never a wait. That's great. The junior stylist yang is good at blow drying hair pin straight. For me that doesn't work. But if you had spanish or Indian hair you'd love how she gets it pin pin straight. ... better then a flat iron. I'm not I to that look anymore. I want volum. She seems insulted when someone tries to show a different technique....honestly she just needs to go back to training for blow and cut. My cut was pretty awful. How did I end up with a Bob when I asked for layers.... and I had photos. The owner seems more knowledgeable. I watch her with her clients. So next appointment I'll have to insist that Phyllis cut and blow and style my hair. Otherwise.... I'll have to try and hunt for another salon that can bleach and blow. So why the 4 stars? Price is on point. She doesn't rip u off. I paid twice at the foofoo fancy place and near could have list all my hair .

I went here in January with a groupon for an ombre coloring, haircut and blowout. There was no one there for a saturday which was strange to me. Usually salons are very busy Saturday's. Anyways, the owner and I guess her daughter was helping her do my hair. At first they seemed nice but they turned out to be somewhat rude to me. She had to color my hair three times because she made it too blonde. Meanwhile she took care of 4 other customers. I was there for 5 hours!! She finally told me the color was what I wanted. Then she cut my hair which was extremely choppy for my long hair. Then she "blow dried it". My hair was huge and frizzy. And the back of my hair was really blonde with no blending like an ombre should look like. ( I'm a dark brunette) there were also some patchy color spots all over my hair. It was a complete nightmare!!

Don't go here ever!! This place needs to be shutdown!

do not go here! first of all the salon is a hole in the wall, not very clean. The woman who did my hair who i believe is the owner was very rude! I used a groupon here and was definitely treated like it! i was supposed to get highlights and my hair came out looking the same! she tryed to blame my hair saying that it was overtreated and that the roots would still show! never heard of this in my life!! my roots look exactly the same!! and the groupon included a style and she was going to send my out with soaking wet hair!! and then gave me an attitude when i asked her to blow dry it for me. i do not know how this woman has a license, she lathered my hair up with mouse and roughly blowed dryed it. my hair came out a frizzy mess! when i tryed to call her to complain she did nothing to help;!! was very rude! i will never go back here again and i suggest that no one else does!!! horrible!!

Low class salon. Don't get their keratin treatment, it doesn't work. Owner was very rude and not understanding. Will never go there. Also filed a complaint against them.
