Care One at Teaneck

Despite what we heard about Care One, COT has been fantastic. From day one, everyone has been kind, more than helpful, and professional.

This place is very nice. I toured many places before choosing a facility for my father and this was the best so I had him stay there after he fell at home. The staff was very nice and helpful. nurses took reall good care of him. I didnt think he would be able to get back on his feet to go back to live alone so I started making plans to have him move with me. But therapy was able to get him right back to where he was.

My mom came home a week ago after 3 weeks, she has dementia and I was amazed at how sensitive, caring and compassionate all the staff are. All the aides always kissed her goodnight. I love the nurses and the therapists. I wouldn't pick any other place and I toured many.

I am very disappointed with this place. The staff is not attentive at all to the patients needs. I spend the entire day with my mom and no one comes in to assist or even to check on her. The food is dropped off on table and than picked up regardless if it was eaten or not. My mother needs help to eat and if I cannot make it to feed her breakfast lunch or dinner, she goes without eating. The bathrooms are dirty and smell, the carpet in the patients rooms are disgusting and smell of urine. Its a disgrace that they charge so much money and the patients are just thrown there to fend for themselves. I DO NOT recommend this place at all!

Horrible, that's all I can say. The neglect the lack of care, common sense, and knowledge in medicine is deeply disturbing. I had a great uncle stay here and when we got him out he was malnourished, and in so much more worse of a condition than what he was in when originally admitted. PLEASE DO NOT ADMIT ANYONE YOU LOVE AND CARE FOR HERE unless you can advocate for them or have someone do that for them. For a nursing home that claims to care, feel sympathy and even be proffesional towards the elderly; the treatment my great uncle got is a huge dissappointment and sobering reminder of what happens when no one's around to advocate for you and your health. Please do be aware that if you do not have someone to advocate for you in this establishment or anywhere else like it, you will be maltreated, this fact is sadly proven true in so many ways here. Please take heed to my warning and those of others who have had loved ones admitted to this place.
