The people here are friendly & helpful- and there's never much of a line. An ATM is on the Calyer side. What's really interesting (besides the impressive massive outer columns and pediment of the Greek-like temple structure and the interier architecture with its beautifully spectacular high dome and stained glass), are the fascinating life size photo blow-ups of Greenpoint street scenes from the early 20th century. They cover most of the BACK of the bank - kind of hidden away but accessible to anyone. They make you feel as if you are actually immersed in an olden day street scene because of their size and ground level placement. Worth a visit just for that experience. Fact: This land-marked building was featured in the 1998 movie "The Siege"- where the exteror served as a huge mosque, complete with an added minaret tower, for calls to prayer. This thought-provoking movie was made before 9/11 but it eerily predicts tragic future events in NYC, and includes the Trump-like scapegoating (and much worse) of innocent American Muslims in an irrational response to terrorism.
