Very nice and caring and knowledgeable staff. They do a good job and keep the dogs cage free, which I appreciate. They are also very funny! Highly recommend.

I have been going to Bonnie since 1988 with my first yorkie, Toto and her 2 puppies, Fat Boy and Cannolle born in 1989. Bonnie grooms every dog like she/he were a show dog getting ready for Westminster Dog Show. Now she is grooming Desi, my yorkie boy. I love the way she handles the animals. I travel from Middlesex County for her services.

When the staff at Canine Designs actually listens to your specific instructions (like, "please don't cut my dog's hair"), they do an excellent job, but, unfortunately, the "listening" part proved to be too difficult for them two out of the five times that I brought my Golden Doodle for grooming. Heck, what is so darn hard about following my specific instructions? Okay, I can understand shaving my dog down the first time because he was simply too matted (my bad), but what about on the other two occasions in which I had fastidiously groomed him prior to bringing him in? I told the receptionist, "Listen, we've been grooming him at least every other day, so he should be fine. Other than trimming here and there, please do not shave him. We want him to look like a golden doodle, not a poodle! Please call me if there is a problem!"
Simple instructions, right? Well, guess what? When I came to pick up the dog at Canine Design, not only had the groomer shaved him down as if he were lice infested, but my golden doodle now looked like he could've easily taken first prize at a poodle dog show! Unbelievable! Apparently, the male groomer and the young woman at the facility are just too plain busy to take the time to groom an animal with copious amounts of hair -- you know, do what they actually gets paid to do (though, I must admit that the owner of Canine Design is a very professional gal and she follows instructions to the letter). My wife, to put it mildly, was upset! Right then and there, I decided that I would be taking my business elsewhere, which I did at Pet Smart on Route 10 in East Hanover. They, too, do a great job, but they actually listen to your directive every single time. Now, how hard is that to do, huh? Again, Bonnie, the owner of Canine Design, is an excellent groomer, so if you decide to go there, just make sure that she grooms your pet, not her employees.
