I ordered custom candy from Candy Capers several weeks prior to a special event. When my package from Candy Capers arrived, over 1/2 the candy was broken and/ or melted. I left a nice message for Candy Capers informing them of the situation (I wasn't particularly stressed because I assumed that the problem would be resolved). The next day, I get an irate call from a Candy Capers associate (Mava?) complaining to me that she had to come in on her day off because of my problem. She then proceeds to state that this situation was my fault because the weather was unseasonably warm the day of delivery. This woman actually blamed me for not predicting that we were going to have a 68degree day in February (what do I look like--Al Roker??)! She then went on to say that the candy was broken and melted because I left it outside too long (which was absolutely false. The package was left under my shaded porch for no more than 30 minutes.Although this shouldn't matter either way). The chocolate wasn't packed correctly. There wasn't enough padding and there was no ice packet to keep the items cool. Receiving damaged items was disappointing, but the reaction by Candy Capers was absolutely insulting. I never received an apology, I only received this tirade from this woman complaining about how she had to come in on her day off and how I was somehow responsible for receiving a poor product. I now do not have enough favors for my event, I am out of my money and am having to spend more time and money scrambling to get favors for my event that is now less than a week away. If your occasion is special, I wouldn't trust Candy Capers to handle even a small piece of it.
