This is not your usual diner menu. You can get a brick oven pizza here. Great sandwiches, many breakfast selections all day of course. Our only negative is that after all these years after Super Storm Sandy the owner hasn't replaced the broken awnings.

I have been to this diner a few times and the food is great. However, another couple who came before us was seated first in a much more comfortable area, and we were offered to sit in one less comfortable or else wait for a better table. Also, i ordered the spaghetti bolognese and ended up with the milanese. Could have been an honest mistake by the waitress. But the manager came over and questioned me repeatedly as if I didn't know what I wanted. I was disappointed this time around.

Candylwyck is my personal favourite local diner. Their food has a certain sense of refinement that is lacking in the cuisine found at other nearby establishments with a similar price point. The service is great and full of fun, personable waiters and waitresses. If you like Buffalo stuff, I recommend the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. The Loaded Fries are quite good, too!
12/28/15 visit: lowering my rating from 5 stars to 2 stars. Arrived, and was the only one waiting to be seated. The hostess took my name down. A few minutes later an older couple walks in and then the hostess adds their name to the list as well. Once a table opens up, the older gentleman who is often near the front of the restaurant comes up and seats the older couple without looking at the list of consulting the hostess before us at a much larger/more comfortable table than I ended up getting. Not that this was a huge deal, but I did feel somewhat disrespected (older people being given preferential treatment vs. Younger; he just FELT like they should be seated first without looking at who was here first) and is also indicative of the professionalism displayed by this guy (who I presume is the owner). He should leave hosting duties to the host, and probably also leave all billing to someone else too (he struggles at math, even with a calculator. I once saw him spend a solid 5 minutes trying to figure out what half of $22.22 was WITH a calculator, and that's just the tip of the iceberg).
Afterwards, the waitress took down our order incorrectly and brought our Spaghetti Milanese instead of Spaghetti Bolognese, which is fine - mistakes happen. However, in order to get the correct order, we were request to "describe what we are looking for" to two separate people to, I guess, prove we know what Spaghetti Bolognese is? Not sure really, just feeling a bit disrespected on more than a few fronts.

A good value for what you get, think classic diner food plus one or two notches on quality. This isn't a greasy spoon in price or fare but is also decidedly not upscale. Service was fairly passive but not rude.
