Camelot At La Mer

Lived at this DUMP four years. "Luxury" townhouses- what a laugh! Neighborhood has gone down hill since we moved there in 2011. They never paved the roads because dump trucks roll through at dawn cutting through to the next LeMer property. If you're looking for a quiet, family oriented place, don't look here. The neighbors don't give a damn about anyone but themselves. People party till 2am, cars sit outside houses with radios so loud they can be heard on MARS....crotch rockets zooming in and out at all hours of the night. But hey, if you like that kind of noise and don't mind having drug dealers in your neighborhood, this is the perfect place for you. Special shout out to the Sayreville Police Department who troll around at dawn looking to write parking tickets. Doesn't matter that there's NOT ENOUGH parking places in relation to the residences...but who cares. Mo money to the PD).

Parking is a major problem.

Pros:
In order of proximity: Close to Rt 9, Rt 35, Garden State Pkwy, NJ Turnpike, Rt 18
Open layout
Large bathroom*
Large walk-in closet*
New, energy-efficient appliances*
Modern finishes
Pre-wired for Verizon FiOS*
Separate street address per apartment

Cons:
Management does not respond to or resolve reported problems
On-call/emergency maintenance is handled by a single person who maintains multiple properties
- ie. You may call for a problem that needs immediate attention but the on-call person is across the county and may be unable to attend to your problem until s/he arrives at this property
Assigned parking is not enforced; others will park in your spot with no consequences
- moved in August 2012 and was not assigned parking until April 2014
Roads are poorly maintained, pothole repairs are frequent but insufficient
New buildings are rushed and poorly built (but from the outside, they look nice)
- Walls and floors are thin and you can hear your neighbors as well as vehicles outside
- I have had electrical issues that have never been resolved
- There will continue to be new construction in the area, causing excess dirt and dust in the area, especially on your car
Overflowing waste containers
360 day lease term. In your last month you are paying a full month when your lease terminates in 26 days

If you never have to contact management, you may have pleasurable experience. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of nice things to say about my communication with them. I send emails that never receive a reply (edit: this has gotten worse). Parking is also a major pain point. Edit: There are too many people in the newly developed areas or too few waste containers. This regularly leads to overflows which are unsightly and can smell horrible. If you are moving to this location, please be wary of the Cons I have listed above.
