My family and I put my mother in Calvary in order for her to recover from a spine infection and bed sore. She had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and we knew that she would have maybe 6 months to a year as her oncologist told us. We reluctantly put my mother in Calvery because we were afraid of the kind of care she would receive there. We needed three things from Calvary. We needed my mother's nuitritional needs to be addressed, her pain managed and my mother needed PT to get her out of bed and moving around. The hospital that recommended Calvary to us assured us they would. And what did Calvary do? It's a long story but they didn't address any of those problems. Instead my mother just laiy therefor 13 days with no food in her, lungs and stomach filling up with fluid and her pain was managed with painkillers that knocked her out and made her incoherent. We complained to their Bronx facility but it was too late, my mom died the following day. I leave you, the reader to decide whether this is the kind of care you want for someone you desperately love. Mom, we love you and never wanted you to go through what you did while at Calvary.
