Calandra's Italian Village

All Calandra's locations are the best for sandwiches, dinner, deserts, etc... I always look forward to stopping in to get food/dessert... They have the BEST raviolis and vodka sauce lol... Also Mr. Calandra is always giving back to his customers! So cool! Thanks for everything!

This is by far the best Italian restaurant in the Essex county area. The food is amazing and the bakery goods are mindblowing. The staff is courteous and they host great NY Jets player meet & greets weekly. I highly recommend this location to anyone.

Met with Danny the manager to discuss how many trays we would need for a catering event, and based on his recommendation, thats how many trays we paid for. The day of pick up, my husband wasted a half hour because the salad wasn't done, we didn't get rolls with butter or marinara sauce for the fried calamari. All that would have been fine, had the food actually been enough; all of our guests went up only once, and by the last table of people, all they had left was salad and pasta. My husband wouldn't eat until he saw each person at least had something on their plate. Food is the most important part of any occasion, and to not have enough at our baby shower was beyond embarrassing. When I spoke to Danny about all of the issues, he blamed us for allowing people to serve themselves. Not sure how people serving themselves vs having someone serve them would have made a difference since it was still the same amount of food, and everyone was barely able to go up once, forget seconds, there were no seconds. His attempt to make it right was by offering to throw in a half tray next time we order. There won't be a next time, why would we ever have anything catered by a place that messed up our order and misguided us completely with how much food to get, and then blamed our own guests. No thanks

Every time I go to any of the Calandra's stores I feel so loved! They always treat me like a member of there family! My 14 month daughter was with us, the waiter talked to her and even played "peek a boo" with her.(I think she has her first crush) Most places don't care and are as loving as them!!
PS: The food is always outta this world!!! I never had a bad meal or cake! I can't wait to go back and try more foods!
If I could give them one more star I would!

I am 100% Italian and love Italian food, but I am also a huge critic when it comes to Italian food - Not here though - Calandra's is by far the perfect place for amazing and delicious food, awesome service, and an overall great atmosphere. I highly suggest asking for Chef Sergio, he is awesome! This place is definitely a must try! It won't disappoint!
