Budget Car Rental

I've always found Budget to provide excellent service, excellent vehicles, and great prices. I've rented probably 2-3 cars per year from them for the past 6 years, and only had 2 instances where I needed to call customer service because everything in the process typically runs smoothly. In both of those instances the matter was swiftly and pleasantly resolved, which is why I'm happy to continue renting from them.

Never again! They make you wait 18,353 years to be helped in the Newburgh NY location & the airport only has all of 3 ppl waiting for a plane; only to be rude with you don't want to accept their crappy insurance because you have your own... I rented a car for all of 24 hours, only to receive a collection letter from Viking TWO MONTHS LATER advising there were $40 in damages for dates the car was no longer in my possession. Phone Customer service is horrible and I feel bad for these poor representatives that are given generic scripts to handle irate customers. At no point did budget try to contact me sooner than 2 months concerning supposed damages. It was a terrible experience. Budget and their collection agency Viking can take the $40 and put it where the sun don't shine!

I made a last minute reservation... and the woman who worked at the counter went out of her way to ensure I had a pleasant and kind person to deal with when I rented there. That kind of human generosity is so easily overlooked in situations like car rentals, so it's worth noticing.

At one point during the drive my car's radiator pipe burst and getting a replacement vehicle was easy and convenient.

Overall a great experience and renting from them eased my mind, which is important during the stresses of travel in the holiday season.

Great price on Priceline, less than $30! Counter employee was having what seemed like a personal conversation on a hands free phone the whole time he was helping me, which was unpleasant. He also gave two options of levels of insurance making it seem like getting no insurance was not a possibility, even though it was and I did get no insurance because I asked for it. Otherwise a smooth experience.

Vehicles, cheaper than most named brands, but need to be prepared before leaving location, car dirty inside, and window not cleaned. Thought even a small car such as a ford fusion, as what I asked for, the Mazada, was tiny. Easy access from airport, and easier return. Staff both at desk and vehicle was good.
