Brown's Fuel Services

Just a terrible company.

I just disconnected my services from Brown after 6 years.
I checked the price of electricity and gas with con edison and national grid and they were 70-90% lower!
Brown is a small company (per representative) and can not be competitive!

If you're considering to transfer to Brown Energy, DON'T DO IT. The representative would come to your house and give you fancy bullshit. The bullshit wouldn't mean anything until the bill comes out the following month. Why did I call it bullshit? Well, they claim that you would pay less per therm and per watt. As a matter of fact, they do charge you less for each watt and therm. However, they increase the price for delivery and maintenance. For example: Our price per watt decreased by $.04 but the price for deliver and maintenance increased was by $.36.

Be very skeptical when people come to your door and try to get you to switch energy suppliers. They convinced me by assuring me that I would save money and that they would "prevent" national grid from charging me extra fees. This was not the case, the electric rate that they quoted me was not true, but I only got a rate after the salesman had to call his supervisor on his cell phone, I never followed up to get it in writing. The transition from national grid service to theirs took 4 months, during which time I had stopped looking at my bill so closely... after three months now on thier service at 10.2c per kwh, I've paid them an extra $250 over what I would have paid my regular utility company. Do yourself a favor, get EVERYTHING in writing, down to the Rates, early termination fees, etc. Know what you are agreeing to.

I have had nothing but amazing experiences with Brown Energy. A strong company with extremely competitive prices and wonderful customer service. I won't go anywhere else!!
