Brooklyn Women's Services: Berka Ronald J MD

Dr. Berka is nothing short of amazing. He always take the time to explain everything, and talk things through. He has impeccable bedside manner. I would refer him to anyone.

Dr. Berka is awesome. Knowledge able and attentive. He has a very no nonsense way about him, It may be off putting to some, but to me, I appreciate it. When we lost our son, he was there for everything. He may not be the mushy hand holding kinda Dr., but he will help you through any issue!

I see Dr. Berka at his other location on 61st street and 4th avenue. I can not say enough about how great he is. I was very nervous about gynos in general. He is super calm, patient and attentive. When I got pregnant with twin girls we discussed all birth options, he was thorough and most importantly listened and respected my wishes to try to have them naturally. He was there for the delivery and even when i was bawling with fear he somehow managed to ensure that everything would be okay and that he had everything under control- he did.
I can not reccomend him enough. He is great at what he does.

Staff has been nice, I arrived 15 min earlier, but I was called to the examining room 50 min after my appointment and I have been waiting for over 20; a total of 70 min late, so far.
It is my second time here and I thought the delay was just because I was a new patient, I was wrong. :-(

The staff here treated me with disrespect; I was there 4 hours for an appointment that took only 20 minutes even though I have good insurance and I made an appointment the week before; Doctor and/or PA botched prescription! doctor finally saw me for only 20 minutes after making me wait another hour in the examination room while he took care of other patients! I took a day off work and arrived 1 hour 15 minutes early in hopes that I could fill out the forms and be seen on time. The receptionist was quick to accept payment, then she ignored me. I noticed that about 7 or 8 women went in before me. I finally got up to speak with his receptionist, who was talking on the phone and ignored me standing at the counter. The receptionist for the midwives asked me what was wrong. I told her that I've seen several women go in and I'm wondering when I will be seen. The woman yelled at me that they are here to see the midwives and I'll just have to wait. To be further insulted, I was called in 20 minutes later by the PA, Dr. Berka spoke with me for two minutes, then went to see other patients while I waited in the exam room for another hour. In total, I spent 4 hours at an office for an appointment that took only 20 minutes!!! AND, I had made an appointment the week before and I have good insurance. I told him I wanted one type of medicine, yet his PA called in a totally different one that causes bad physical side effects. Now I won't have the medicine I need this weekend. NEVER EVER again!
