For whatever reason you can take the girl out of Long Island but you can't take the Long Island out of the girl. I rarely go to Brooklyn because it's "SOOOOOOOO FAR", but when I lived in Elmhurst I managed to take a 10 minute drive into this mysterious borough for a boozy Monday night with my boo.
The vibe is totally laid back and lacks uniformity (which I like) high tables, low, couches, the bar itself are all options for seating. I had the white wine flight and we tried their cheese (a camembert and something else), sausage, chorizo, and prosciutto (holla at your pork lover)
The servings were pretty generous for a flight and the oenologist had short bits of information on each wine and what it would pair nicely with. We went on a Monday night so it was a bit dead but it was better that way for us because I suspect this place could get busy by Thursday night.
They have wine classes and they sell little things like chocolates. We ended up buying their Brooklyn Oenology Riesling because it was just one of my favorite locals so far (it is on the sweeter side FYI)
It definitely is a place where you can just enjoy local wine and learn without feeling like you should pretend to know more than you do. I love a casual wine bar with friendly staff and this place fits the bill.

The atmosphere is always very welcoming and convivial. The wines are very tasty; I remember falling in love with the 2008 Viognier. The staff is always very friendly and courteous.
