Carlos and his crew, to me, are the best overall repair/service shop in NYC. As a former bike mechanic, these guys are who I go to when I can't get the job done myself. Thanks, Carlos.

Great shop, great work. Had my stint of "craigslist shmechanics" and this shop is not one of those. They get you dialed in with what you need and get you back out there. Done. Prices are reasonable and turn over matches what type of work one gets. Thanks for getting my Thruxton square. I'll be bringing in my Suzy 450 by in the winter. She needs help. So you ride? You need work on your cycle? See Carlos and the guys at Brooklyn Motor Works.

After reading a ton of good and bad reviews about all the shops in the area, I decided to just stop by them myself to make my own opinion. As I live close by I decided to drive by Brooklyn Motor Works. Glad that I did, as I didn't have to go any further. Carlos the owner was still working, on a Sunday.
I was planning to put new pipes and a new air cleaner on my 2000 Fatboy and needed help rejetting the carb. He educated me that the smarter choice would be to change the entire carb from the stock CV to a S&S super E as that will help with the performance of the bike and also save me money in the long run, as I would probably be back to get the carb exchanged anyways sometime in the future. He really went out of his way to explain all the details and benefits of doing that change, instead of just rejetting the stock carb. We ended up ordering the part that same day and it came in on Tuesday and I was on the lift on Wednesday and drove away that same day!
One of the things I personally value a lot is his philosophy of an open garage. I was able to stay for the entire time of the built and could watch learn and ask questions, which Carlos was always happy to answer. He and his apprentice Chris, who has the greatest job in the world, are a great team and I feel very confident in bringing my bike there knowing it will be treated like own of their own.
UPDATE:
Went to Carlos at Brooklyn Motor Works again, and again he convinced me that it was the right decision to go there in the first place.
Despite from running down my breaks, I had problems shifting and the first gear jumping out. He did a couple tests and told me that I had bend my shifter by not having enough oil between the clutch discs, which would have been an easy fix if I would have come earlier. He helped me finding the right and best parts to exchange and squeezed me into his busy schedule to get my bike back on the road.
I really appreciate all the insight and help and for Carlos there are no stupid questions, so you can feel free to ask away.
Thanks again bro!

Just had the best experience at Brooklyn Motor Works with the owner, Carlos. He listened to what I wanted, offered several options in different price points, and was very knowledgable. Changed out the tires, clutch, air filter and seat, and did a full 10k tuneup in less than a week. The bike roars now and rides like a dream. I will def be back.

After a long, unsuccessful search for someone remotely near me, who was willing to work on a Yamaha Cruiser, I finally stumbled upon Brooklyn Motor Works, Glad I did - Carlos does excellent work, without any bias about what make, model or style of bike you bring in. Refreshingly, there's no double talk or hard up-sell pitches, just honest assessments, and practical charges. Highly recommended.
