I organized a group outing to Brooklyn Grange where a group of ~10 were able to play farmers for the day (or an hour). The activities were actual farm tasks like picking green beans and planting seeds. They also offer beekeeping workshop where you can don beekeeper outfits while holding an actual drone.
Prices are a little expensive considering you're working while there but it's well-worth it given the stunning views, knowledgeable staff and delightful honey tasting!
Friendly, uber knowledgeable staff and gorgeous property.

Really delightful space. An acre and a half of farm land on top of a warehouse in the Navy Yard — who knew? Staff couldn't be friendlier or more knowledgable. We learned so much and had a blast. Beautiful place to spend an afternoon.

Magical rooftop farm. Spent the afternoon in the sun planting basil and tasting honey. The staff are lovely and the views are stunning. Would be a lovely wedding reception venue.

Quietly hiding in plain sight on the top of Building 3 at the Navy Yard is one of New York's most impressive urban farms. With row after row of hyper-local produce, stormwater recycling and great views of the East River, I don't know why every building in Brooklyn doesn't do this! I was here for an evening event, but they generally hold tours on Wed at 1 pm.
