There are a lot of vacuum and sewing shops in Astoria. If you need to go to one I would NOT suggest going to these guys.
Reasons:
1.) They over charged me for getting my lamps fixed
2.) When they fixed my lamp they put on a brown cord with a white plug. When I asked to replace it with a brown plug (to match the cord) they looked at me like I was crazy and then told me it would take a week cause they didn’t have any brown plugs in stock (how hard is it to get a brown plug? There are 3 hardware stores across the street. They could have just grabbed one on made me a happy customer.
3.) They basically held my vacuum hostage for 2 months. I brought it in for a check-up. They cleaned it, checked it and said it was good to go. I brought it home and it immediately clogged up again. Then I brought it back and they said, “woops. I guess it needs a new filter.” DUH! They held on to it, didn’t call me back. I finally called and got a straight answer, which was, “We can’t get the new filter from the supply.” Gee, thanks! I told them I would come and pick it up. They still charged me for the “cleaning”. Before I went to pick it up I went to Meg Vac and Sew-Vacuum Cleaners/Sewing Machines at 3805 Broadway. They had the filter and were very pleasant. They saved my life! The in-laws were visiting for the holiday and the apartment HAD to be vacuumed! Thanks Meg Vacuum and Sewing!
4. ) Over all doing business with Broadway Vacuum and Appliance Repair Corporation was very unpleasant. Their customer service stinks!
