My family moved into apt. 1C in 1957 when I was 6 years old. The live in super's name was Gus who could be trusted to be left alone in anyone's apt. even if they had cash out in the open. Gus was always available to help. The grounds were always and I mean always immaculate. The hallways were always clean and unobstructed. Mailboxes looked as though they were polished everyday. There were never leaks from ceilings or water coming in from windows. Room sizes were average to large depending on the line a family lived in. After a few years, we moved into apt. 1B which had 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. After I married I moved into apt. 6N. I must say with all honesty, there isn't any better place to live. I still know a few families in some of the apts. and I swear everything is us as perfect as it was when I lived there. I WANT TO MOVE BACK INTO EITHER 2241 or 2251 PLUMB 1ST STREET.
