Last Spring, I started taking beginner painting classes for adults at the Bridgeview Art School and enjoyed every minute of it. Samuel Kudish is an extremely knowledgeable instructor with a tremendous experience in all the various classical painting and drawing techniques. His deep love of the fine arts is truly catching. However, he never tries to impose anything upon you and lets you freely express your own potential according to your preferences. Bridgeview was the first art school I ever visited and I didn't know what to expect. But Sam was very encouraging and I found the School (instructors, staff, students) to be a very warm and supportive environment.

My daughter, Sasha, is going to Bridgeview Art School since she was 9 years old.
Now she is 12.
We moved to Brooklyn, close to downtown and DAMBO area. Given all the art in the
neighborhood I thought it wouldn't be a broblem to find an art school.
Well after about a year of searching we are back at Bridgeview.
This is the only place that I know of where they teach art seriously to the kids.
This is definitely not a babysitting but a very professional environment.
The studio is very cool, too.

Our daughter, Marie has been attending Bridgeview Art School for the past 6 years. She is 12 years old and has her own opinion about everything. Polina, in addition to teaching her different styles and techniques encourages our daughter to express herself in her own way and Marie loves it very much. We are very grateful to Bridgeview and Polina in particular for the opportunity that the children have.

My son is now 8 and in his fouth semester at Bridgeview. It is the only program that I know in the metropolitan area that teaches drawing to children his age. They focus less on "creativity" than on formal skills; how to realistically represent what you see. They teach perspective and modeling using still-life set-ups. They work in a lovely, high-ceilinged loft studio in quite concentration with instuctors circling to offer gentle suggestions. My son loves it. The results are outstanding.

My daughter is going on FOUR years now at this school. She started when she was 6 years old. She loves it and we love it! Bridgeview is a comfortable blend of art school and workspace for children who love doing art. The instructors are dedicated, generous, and overall, a good influence on the children. They're true mentors, not to mention, they're working artists with accomplishments in publications and fine arts. If you want your child to grow, to explore, or just have a place to do her "art thing" - this is the place!
