Brake-O-Rama Ridgewood

I took my car to them as it was making a noise. They told me that the hub bearing needed to be replaced and that it would cost ~$300. I reluctantly said OK, as a friend of mine just had that same work done at a different shop for $150. Later they called and said it needed a new axle too and I wound up paying over $500. Now my car is making the noise again and there is a sign on the door that they are closed for vacation until today. Still nobody there. Not happy!

Tried to overcharge me when I told him I was using a Groupon, this was after calling and confirming the car, price, and appointment. Shady place, people, and poor service.

Bought a gropoun voucher for oil change + tire rotation +61 points inspection.
It is a joke. Thought they will figure out why the car sometimes shake or even check and adjust tire pressure. Nope.
No appointments, you have to wait there for your turn.
Wouldn't go back.

Terrible place. Purchase a coupon book for oil change with tire rotation. First time, I wasn't sure if they rotate tires or not. Second time, I marked each tire and found they did it a wrong way. Just let it go. This time, they didn't even rotate them even though I emphasized them to do it. I asked to do it and guess what. They did it a wrong way again. These guys doesn't have a clue what they are doing. Now I can't even believe if they did oil change or not. Just be careful what you getting from this place. I'm never going back here again.

I got a groupon for an oil change, tire rotation and 64 point inspection for $20 (retail was around $90). It took about an hour and a half. After they were done, they took me back and showed me what failed on the 64-point inspection very matter-of-factly, which was very nice. I did not feel pressured to get these things done immediately, they just told me what they recommended getting done eventually.

The only thing I didn't like was that they charged me tax for the retail value of the groupon. It only ended up being $5 dollars, so not a big deal. Also, there was another charge because I own a Lexus (make sure to read the fine-print).

Overall, I still got an oil change, tire rotation and 64-point inspection for $40, which I think is a good deal.
