Bourbon BBQ & Catering

Okay, months ago I went to Bourbon BBQ and thought it was okay. However, for superbowl I picked up the spareribs and babybacks. My wife likes BB because they are leaner. Both were unbelievable good. And, I am picky about sauce and asked for it to be on the side. As it turned out, I liked their sauce better than my favorites. I am a Kansas City Barbecue Assoc. (KCBS) judge and these ribs ranked up with the best I have had in the South. I am originally from Tennessee and never thought I could find good BBC in New Jersey.

I actually love this restaurant.....during the day. I would give it 5 stars. But it's like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde because the evening food and service is so different. My suggestion is to go during the day. The service and the food is excellent. I haven't been there since I moved, but I am planning a trip up there soon.

I placed an order went to pick it up they just finished packing as i walked in. I live maybe 5 mins away. Got home to ice cold food. Called they said it must have been sitting on counter for a while. Placed on hold for the 4th time. Then girl gets on and asks well then what do you want us to do. They had offered to remake the food but at this point i dont need 2 more dinners and it was not good the first time. Expensive and i have had much better bbq other places. Wont be going back.

I am sorry to say I was not happy with this place. I am generally not very picky. I ordered the brisket and pulled pork sandwich. The taste was decent but it was ICE cold. My father ordered a double burger and upon arrival it was literally completely uncooked. Uneatable! We asked for it to be put back on the grill and about one minute later it came back out. Microwaved and soggy with 1/4 of the french fries that were on the plate to begin with. The waitress was very nice. That was the only plus. And the floor is like an ice skating rink its so slippery. I was worried my father would slip and fall when he went to the bathroom. I am sorry for the bad review but it needs to be said. This place could be so good but the cook is dropping the ball.

I was looking forward to trying it. The tablecloths were sticky, the fried chicken tasted like vegetable oil, and the quesadilla was very very skimpy and dry with a burnt taste. I asked the couple in the next table how their ribs were and they said just "okay". I was extremely disappointed. I also don't like looking at the garbage can while eating. Could use a good cleaning and update. The plastic jars of sauce that remain on the tables were sticky and looked dingy too. I would not return, however, at least I got out of cooking a night....but that was the only good thing. So sorry. And I usually will never take the time to write a review.
