i was walking by and wanted to see what kind of things this place had. i'm a writer and artist and use a lot of paper-products and shipping supplies.
i took one step toward the open door and the man inside, who i am guessing was the owner or manager, blocked my path and asked me what i needed.
i told him i wanted to browse and his reply was "no, you can't do that. do you need something?"
i said i was looking for some envelopes (i actually did need some).
he showed me a few different kinds, i picked one (because his impatient stare made me feel like i had to choose right away), and he asked how many i wanted. since i hadn't planned on making a purchase right at that moment, i said i would come back--he shook his head and said "don't bother. don't come back."
i said nothing and walked out immediately.
it's as if he has no interest at all, or even opposed to, gaining a potential new customer.
