They got hit pretty hard by sandy but they are open for business (even though the phone has a busy signal) Same awesome staff. The owner Steve is always around. He does a lot of non profit work in the local community which is just another reason to give then your business. Great spot to cool down and clean up after a surf. Good selection and prices on board rentals.

I tried calling them and their phone is off. I think that the hurracaine took them, out. This was corroborated by calling the Rockaway surf shop, which is still open. Check for yourself, but I'm 99% positive this business doesn't exist anymore.

I've lived over here for my whole life.Boarders is the place to be to get skateboards, clothing, stickers, tapes, and surfboards. I own stuff from the store. Customer service is extremely supportive. If you want a skateboard they build it for you right in front of your face so no worries. When you walk out of this store you are guaranteed to have a friend that works there

I just rented a board. I like how they have lockers for you to leave your stuff while you surf and a shower for afterwards. I don't like that they are short of rash guard options (I had to use an oversized one). The second time I went there, there was also a crack on the board I rented, that I just noticed in the middle of the way to the beach. I went back and they gave me another board without a problem.
Apparently they have surfing classes, but I don't know how they are.

Right down from the 90th Street break. Chatty father and son team make board storage, touch ups, or just getting wax, a pleasure...not just a purchase.
