Blue Bird Child Care

Blue Bird has become like a 2nd home for my child. Even though he only goes for after-school it's still a time in the day he's always looking forward to. The meals are excellent and lately they've become even more creative with introducing more culture and have the children participate in making their own meals or snacks (Friday, they will help make their own Guacomole). The staff is friendly and experienced. I can tell by the interaction they have with all of the children that they truely enjoy their work. Joan, is amazing, she's always thinking of new ideas on how to educate the children and extremely communicative. She's not only the director but her son also attends the daycare. You can see her eyes light up when speaking of him. The cleanliness is one of a kind, their is a professional servcie that comes in every night to clean throughly. The halls and classrooms are always in order and their is never any clutter.
To resume, Blue Bird Child Care is probably one of the best daycares (if not considered a center or school) in the area of Astoria. I visited several if not all while searching and Blue Bird was in my opinion the very best. The service, food, hours of operation, policies, discipline, nuturing and communication overall allow me to leave my child with a peace of mind every day.

Blue Bird is a wonderful experience for everyone involved. The daycare not only provides outstanding care for the children but also encourages the families and staff to be actively involved in acitivities outside of daycare. The children are happy, safe, well-fed (to say the least) and learning in a nuturing environment where the programs are structured yet the childrens comfort comes first. Blue Bird has an open door policy which has allowed me to interact with my child during circle time, art, literacy, etc. The director encourages the active participation of parents and has bi-annual evaluations to review with parents. The Spanish program is outstanding as I have not only seen my child speaking at home and recognizing such things as a rainbow or his colors and shapes. I really enjoy and appreciate the environment that Blue Bird provides. It's a relief for me on an everyday basis to bring my child to Joan and her staff.

I took my son to Bluebird and I was surprised to find that this place was filled with warmth and personal care for each child. The staff keeps daily log of what your children, learn, eat, how many times the go to the potty. They push the children to learn through active play and imagination, it's like they live their days in community. We had a family picknick in the backyard and as a full time mother this was an excellent opportunity for husband and I to enjoy our child among other parents. They incorporated the children in the preparation of the meals building independence and pride. The owner makes the effort to build relations with the parents and I feel that she genuinely cares for my child as she does her own little bluebird . I have no concerns that my child is in great hands when he stays at bluebird .

Blue Bird is such a happy and loving facility. The children all leave with smiles on their faces. From an insider's perspective, this facility offers high-quality care for your children and their various needs. The staff and owner are very loving and energetic while caring for the children. They teach the children various concepts such as shapes, colors, letters, their names, etc. The children leave the facility gaining more knowledge each and every day. They also offer great security. They have webcams to ensure that the children are being well taken care of as well as making the parents feel comfortable because the parents can access it at any time and view their child's progress. If you don't believe come and see for yourself.

Dear prospective parents, I have a 2 year old, and recently I have visited this daycare. I found the daycare clean, refreshing and vibrant. The classrooms were full with children playing with toys. Both floors were equally wonderful to visit. The staff was very approachable and very interactive with the children. The director was not only helpful but loving and kind as she has her own son in the daycare. I fully recommend this day care for any child between the ages of 3 months to 6 years ( yes they do after school as well). The cost is affordable for the family on a budget.
