Reviews to BLD-Diner
Stylish, airy and clean restaurant with a very high quality of food that is head and shoulders above typical diner food. BLD has an all day breakfast menu that is superb. Try the crab cakes Benedict, especially tasteful. Well made soups and salads for lunch as well as delicious burgers in a variety of preparations. My favorite dinner experience has been the short ribs. The pasta dishes are excellent and elevates the diner style preparation. The kitchen just doesn't go for speed as most diners tend to do. Detail to presentation and quality taste experience takes precedence. The waitstaff is courteous but sometimes it can be a little hard to get their attention when the restaurant is slammed with people. Desserts are the only complaint I have; they once had great pies, especially the pecan, but then cut back and have just a few items to choose from. Gone is also the wonderful baklava. But all in all, the best diner in Westchester County by a long shot.

A pleasant diner, smallish, but our lunch was good (super grilled-cheese sandwich but clam chowder was a bit gritty--probably true of most). Major concern was the Ladies' Room. Clean and well-appointed, but if your measurement from fanny to navel, (i.e., front to back) is more than 16 inches, then even when turned sideways to enter stall, you will not fit! They designed a one-stall space to fit two stalls in, thereby leaving almost no room to put a toilet into each of the two stalls. I only checked the first one but the farthest one must be the same because they appeared to be of equal size from the outside. To add to the contortions necessary for availing oneself of the facilities, assuming you CAN squeeze into the stall before the door hits the toilet-front, then you will notice that in order to allow for two toilet closets, they had to angle the toilet itself! This then requires you to have to sit side-saddle in order to accommodate your left leg.. This facility was obviously designed by a man - or by an extremely short-legged, tiny woman with no butt :-) Btw, my front-to-back dimension allowed me in - just! I am serious, though.. This set-up presents a challenge for anyone but the very svelte. Hopefully, the men's room lucked out and maybe has only one toilet - I did not check.

Came to this diner after a night out with some loved ones and the food was great, the waiters always made sure we had what we needed and was never too far. I would definitely return to this diner.

I have been going with co-workers to this diner for lunch for over 7 years now. This is a great Diner and exactly the type of food you would expect for such an establishment- burgers, sandwiches, platters, lunch specials, etc. Someone in another review said the portions were too small... too small? I think, like most Diners, that there is plenty of food on your plate. The staff in some places is hit and miss but most of the people I see at lunch have been there for years, they are nice and in general, helpful. Sure there is the occasional off day, could happen to anyone, but it's by far my favorite place for lunch in the area.
I have to say there is 1 reason it doesn't get the 5th star... The bathroom facilities... this is important in a restaraunt- while the mens room was clean enough the physical size of the single stall is incredibly small... It's not wheelchar accessible but they have those bars on the wall anyway- well I can even stand in it straight, it's not wide enough and its falling apart.
