To the owners of Blarney Stone,
I have been a frequent customer for 5+ years, usually order bottled beer, but tonight (08/09/2013) at 6 pm ordered a pint of Harp from the male (vs 2nd female) bartender.
The beer wasn't that cold, so I switched to a bottled Bud Light.
But before doing so, I questioned the (surly) male (Irish) bartender about the size of the "pint". "Hey... is this 14 or 16 oz?", as I'd read a story about bars (like the Blarney Stone) serving (short by 2 oz) pints.
The bartender was indignant, was aggressive, indignantly got in my face, and even said "you want to bet?" as he held up another similarly sized but slightly different shaped "pint" mug.
I had no measuring cup with which to debate him, so I couldn't.
So I borrowed the pint glass, with the intention of returning it, and measured its content when I got home.
Why was I not surprised it was a short pint of 14 (and not 16) oz?
The bartender KNEW he was lying to me, bullied me, and proved what a scumbag both he and The Blarney Stone are.
I intend to let every social media medium know of your deceit, to include the NY Post (who wrote an article about this cheating a few months ago), and I pledge never to return to your sh*tty establishment again.
If the bartender had owned up to it, it would be one thing, but I called him on it, and he made me think I was wrong when I wasn't.
I just can't believe you've been cheating your loyal customers for all these years.
Sincerely,
Jack McGonagle

Stopped in this place last night with some friends after attending a whiskey tasting event nearby. Ordered some beer, wings, burgers, wine, etc. and put about $10 in the jukebox. Apparently another patron had put money in before I arrived, and when three of the 9 songs I selected played, this man stood up on the table and unplugged the juke box and began cursing my friends and I. The bartender disappeared during the altercation, and once she was located and asked what she was going to do about his behavior which got worse and his insults took on a racial tone, she apologized for him and offered me my money back saying "its just easier to give you your money back then to deal with him." After attempting to have an intelligent conversation with the racist, belligerent patron, he began to get physical and continued to hurl racist remarks, "go back to your cages," "monkeys", etc. my friends and I decided to leave with most of our food and drinks untouched. As opposed to the manager comping us since we were being driven out of the establishment in order to avoid a physical altercation, the manager handed me the $90 check which I paid. I've lived in NY all my life and travel to all kinds of establishments in a variety of neighborhoods and I've never had an incident like this happen and never had an establishment endorse the behavior by suggesting that my friends and I (9 people) leave vs the one person who is obviously drunk and belligerent and who caused the commotion. I will never patronize this bar again!!
