On Saturday evening, December 20, 2014, I visited Solaia Restaurant for the very first time with a very dear friend, Cherie. We were enjoying the occasion of renewing our friendship of many years and it was the first time that we were together in 40 years. There was much to talk about. The wait staff gave us a lovely table in front of their window and served us a delicious dinner. Apparently, they heard some of our conversation and understood that we were celebrating Cherie's 70th birthday. At dessert time, four members of the staff presented Cherie with a lovely cake and serenaded her with "Happy Birthday". It made the evening very memorable. We will return as often as possible.

This restaurant is the most shameful establishment I have EVER patronized. Hands down.
The food is mediocre AT BEST. The service is bland and the prices are ABSOLUTELY ABSURD. And for these prices, they couldn't even cook a burger properly for $19.00, and then when they said they would take it off the bill, they did not.
It is obvious that they are only surviving because of their location next to an entertainment venue, and gouging their prices because of it.
DO NOT EAT HERE. Find another place. DO NOT EAT HERE.
RIP OFF RIP OFF RIP OFF. This establishment should be ASHAMED of itself.

Good Italian/Continental next door to the John Harms theatre in Englewood. Food used to be better, but is still good. Prices are a bit high, but they've added a sister restaurant, Caprizza, next door, which is more informal and somewhat less expensive.

My family was going to a show at the theater next door at 8:15. We got to Solaia at 6:15 and almost missed the first song. That's how bad/slow the service was. The waitress was pretty much missing the entire time. First, we were never given butter (which may not be a big deal, but it took them 10 minutes to get us some butter packets after we asked for it). Second, we didn't get our appetizer until almost 7:15 (1 hour for a couple of salads...) and only after we had to ask the manager for them. At this point, the salad didn't satiate my incredible hunger and the bread was already gone. The main course didn't arrive until about 7:45 (even though we advised the staff that we had a show to get to). Mind you, we had already been at the restaurant for an hour and a half. Although we were told that it was a backup in the kitchen that caused the massive delays, other families that had arrived WELL after us (one couple arrived at 7:00) had already finished eating by the time our entrees arrived.
Despite the horrible service, the food was decent, however definitely not worth the bloated pricing. Because of the horrible service and nearly missing a part of our concert (that was next door), they decided to invite us for an after show dessert. I, personally, would have rather not paid for half the meal, but majority ruled and the dessert was actually very good making it this establishment's only saving grace.
Only dine here if you arrive in a Bentley or Jaguar. It seems to be the only way to get good service.
