Best brewery in NYC in my opinion.
They get a little crazy with their beer styles, exploring further away from the norm than just your standard IPAs and stouts - injecting flavors you don't normally see.
Usually when breweries get experimental, though, they are pretty hit or miss (mostly miss), but Big Alice is CONSISTENTLY creating weird brews that taste GREAT.
I have no idea how they do it, but I love checking out what they have on tap. I just wish I lived closer.

My visit to Big Alice was pretty average for any brewery. The staff was very nice, but I got a vibe that they would have preferred I wasn't there on a Friday night. The beer was actually pretty mediocre as well. Their Jalapeño Rye was the highlight of the visit, with the rest falling short in their respective styles. With several other breweries in the neighborhood, I'd say you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not at least popping in for a tasting, but don't expect anything stellar. Good people, decent beer.

Currently my favorite LIC brewery with the best mix of adventurous craft beers and beautiful tap room. The tap room also serves pick-your-own-combo flights --- making it easier for you to select whatever you want to try. If it ever comes back, I highly recommend their white coffee stout!

What super friendly great tasting brewing company. The place is small but cozy and for only $10 you can try 4 different beers. My fav were the butter taste and the jalapeño, besides it was too strong for me, but it is worthy to try

Great small batch beer selection from a small brewery in an unassuming location. The neighborhood seems like it'd be dodgy at night, but tucked in a small warehouse space is the great and super tidy brewery. Similar to the equally small Transmitter and Rockaway breweries nearby, this is truly a micro brew where the tasting room is inside the brewing room. The staff is super friendly and will talk to you all day about dry hopping and IBUs. The sampler flights are the best way to try the range. A few brews are a bit too adventurous to me like the peanut butter stout and the gunpowder rye, but the jalapeño was fantastic and the simple honey wit was phenomenal. Best selection on the LIC beer route.
