Wouldn't let anyone else touch my hair

Where do I begin with this review? They are probably the biggest bait and switch, unprofessional bunch of hair stylists in Brooklyn right now and Honestly, they should reconsider moving their location based on the amount of terrible reviews given. I'll be honest, before becoming a frequent client, I saw the reviews online and dismissed them, chalking them up as disgruntled previous clients with slim wallets. I am more than happy to spend money for a justifiable service if I feel it's worth it. Money isn't the issue, until it later becomes one. I had gone in for simple wash and sets for a few months and was happy with the results. How hard can it be right. My hair was little above bra strap not too long but definitely NOT short at all. Once the summer hit, I got a little antsy to do something interesting with my hair. Both Irene and Michelle convinced me to color my hair. It took about a full 2months of convincing but I went it with the intent to show them specifically what I wanted in the final color result. I want a deep auburn/brown balayage hair color technique - which btw they have no idea to execute despite them telling you that they do. I showed close to 10-12 images of front side and back views of the "natural" sun kissed effect that I wanted. I had no intention of looking like an unnatural, calico cat with ombre color demarcations. Anyhow, Irene and Michelle over processed my hair and stunted the growth of my hair with layers over the course of maybe 4 months. They will try to convince you that you're hair isn't shedding and breaking off in odd places even though it is. My hair is now brittle, weak, THIN and above shoulder length. For those wondering if somehow maybe I played in role in the loss of my hair, the answer is no. I do not put heat on hair at all. My hair and hair type is pretty low maintenance and I wanted to document specifically who and what was causing the damage of my beautiful locks. I havent worn my hair down and out since the summer as I try to recoup my hair. Sometimes I just want to cry looking at what they did. Once they get your $650-$700 for the color package, they no longer care about the TRUE HEALTH of your hair. DO NOT EVER LET THEM TALK YOU INTO GETTING A COLOR PACKAGE. Only trust the wash and set as its the only fool proof service they offer. There's so much else to say about the "treatments" I've gotten over the past year, but as I write this review the regret of going sets in. They've destroyed my hair. Luckily, my hair growth rate is pretty fast but only patience will get me through this tough time. Not to sound superficial but I loved my hair before going here. Now I just want to cut it all off to start fresh. Ladies, you've been warned several times now. PLEASE save your hair and length from the drama. Love and light.

The worst. I went there do to their instagram page and was loving their curly hair treatments comes to show when I walked in their packages were expensive $650 and higher. I toke my chances when I asked for a blonde , why did I even bother. My hair was bleached three times and it still looked nothing near a blonde hair color. I went in at 1 came out until 6 p.m. unbelievable how long it toke. I wish I would have just done a hair cut and a simple deep conditioning. Never will I go there.

1.Overpriced on nearly EVERY service!! They magically create prices on coloring services and constantly increase prices for wash/set. They do not have a published price list for customers to see. 2. There is No heat/Air Conditioning in this entire salon. Expect to freeze in the winter and sweat in the summer (they claim that they will install a unit soon - if not, the Better Business needs to get involved). Im surprised they even have hot water to wash hair. 3. they have a water cooler for customers but it is not clean and often has strange things floating in the water jug. Do not drink from this. 4. they talk about customers negatively in Spanish (they don't know that I understand Spanish) and are extremely Unfriendly and unprofessional. Irene will constantly try to sell you overpriced products (55% markup) and Michele will try to lure you in and lecture you about the salon as if you in an orientation to join an "exclusive club". Give me a break!! 5. They are based in bushwick, Brooklyn (typical Dominican salon) but they think are on Park Avenue in Manhattan. They do not respect or appreciate their clientele and will try to suck every dollar out of you. 6. They "specialize" in color so they say but you it is NOT anything special. They hide behind their motto of "quality service" but it is a lie. Their products are not superior in any sense!! 7. Check out the average yelp review. Trust what the reviews are saying. This salon is insane !!! 8. Do NOT go to Bien Curls!! Save your money and look elsewhere !! 9. Be careful-- they will tell you one price and when you get to the register surprise you with a different price.
