The Dr is a no nonsense, get the job done right, without second guessing, solution finder. Some may not see the friendly nature, but thats because he isn't the type to beat around the bush and flower what he has to say. I personally prefer these characteristics and feel more comfortable getting my precious imported bike fixed and maintained by someone who I can trust. Been to many bike shops that have beginners who provide made up stories and second guess solutions. The Dr respects himself enough not to make up fairy tale stories. This level of respect for me is what I needed in order to trust someone to repair my imported and highly valuable bike.
I find it amusing when he is critical and says how much of a perfectionist I am about my bike, but thats the truth and I appreciate he notices that and appreciate that he is comfortable enough to speak his mind. For me honestly and being straight forward is the most important thing. Prices are very fair and if you are surprised by the prices thats because you are looking at the cost in comparison with the cost of the bike. At the end of the day its all about the time that needs to be spent and we all know that is the most valuable investment of any repair. You are much appreciated and have earned the name Bicycle Doctor!

This place is the real deal. I'd ridden to work, picked up a slow leak, and was fully flat when I walked out, of course in a hurry to get somewhere on time. Didn't catch the guys name, but I presume he's the owner, and he had me back out the door in three minutes. $18.50 for tube and install, seems fair to me.
Honestly I was more impressed with his demeanor. I've never seen a mechanic like this guy (car, motorcycle, bicycle etc.) I only talked with while he was ringing me up, but he's competent, kind, and interested in what he does. He didn't come off like an affected hipster who want you to think he's cool first, and knowledgeable second, and he didn't come off like a salesman wanting to push parts, and he didn't come off like a know-it-all.
FWIW, I'm not a bike nut, and I don't understand why people exercise, so you might not find what you need in this shop if "bike culture" matters to you, or if you wear those funny jerseys (maybe he sells them, I didn't look). I'm only a practical seasonal commuter, but I'm serious about my bike as a tool. 15 miles round trip, rain or shine in the spring and fall, but deep winter and high summer are too much for me. And when I talked to this guy, I felt like there was an understanding. I know how silly that sounds, and I don't care. I liked this place a lot.
As for reports of rudeness, I don't know. It's hard to take you guys seriously. Let's have a poll: sound off if you have worked at least one consecutive year of laboring at production, service or retail, *and* you think this guy was rude to you.
Anyone? No?

Bought a new Bianchi there. I actually thought the owner Alex was being an ass at first, but it was me who was reading him way wrong. After about 10 minutes I realized I was print the punk and he's actually a really nice guy. He's an absolute pro and I trust him with all my repairs and my other Bianchi needs.

Alex is a great bike mechanic and can fix and tweak your 6grand carbon race bik,e as well as your fifty bucks piece of junk, like no other in the neighbor. He has a great bike shop which looks and smells the way a bike store should look and smell. His prices are real and honest, and he's not willing to negotiate them - I guess this pisses off a of people paying 3 grand to rent a shoe box and looking to scrap a dollar here and there to buy lunch.

I'm a bike commuter and I needed to have my tires changed and the brakes removed because I had switched to a fixed. The simple explanation couldn't have been more painful. He just didn't want my business... I did finally get him to do it, it wasn't cheap, but I now take my biking needs to Landmark.
