Bayshore Ophthalmology LLC: Collur Surekha MD

My mother went to Bayshore Ophthalmology for an eye exam. The reception staff were very polite and helpful. Dr. Collur found that she had Glaucoma in both eyes. This was upsetting to my 70 year old mother but the staff explained everything she needed to know about the laser surgery she would need. They helped her with the paperwork and answered all her questions. Even after her appointment if she called with questions, they answered her quickly. Amy was extremely nice & bubbly to deal with!
Dr. Collur is a very good doctor and gets right to the point! My mother felt very comfortable as her patient and highly recommends her. You can trust Bayshore Opthalmology. The surgery was a success and my mothers' vision has greatly improved.

Dr. Collur single handedly prevented me from going blind in my right eye. Dr. Collur was recommended to me by two fellow tennis player friends after I began having vision difficulties on the tennis court. She immediately identified the onset of severe Glaucoma in my right eye and immediately offered up the solutions to stop it in it's tracks via SLT non evasive surgery and a regiment of Glaucoma drops. Although I had lost some vision I feel she prevented further vision loss. What I appreciate with Dr. Collur is that she is a no nonsense serious practitioner who exhibits the highest level of professionalism in the Opthamology area. She is also very "hands on" and communicates very well. Her daily office billing and activities are managed by a host of bright and professional young women who have made my many doctor visits very manageable. She recently performed successful Cataract surgery on me and my advice to any readers in the Holmdel NJ area to try to get an appointment with this very busy Opthamologist whether you have severe eye issues or just need a yearly check up. After all, it is your eyes isn't it?

I went to this doctor today for a simple "dry eye test". The girls at the front were lovely and helpful. Chantel was my nurse and insisted that I have pre-eye tests BEFORE I could see the doctor. I agreed to the Glaucoma test even thought I didn't need this. The dry eye test was performed. Dr. Collur Surekha came in the room and shut off the lights and immediately tried to perform MORE tests ie. dialate my pupils. I refused and she got mad and said " You are refusing these tests?" Slammed her pen down and said follow me to the front desk. I HEARD her say ... " I don't want her as a patient". Really? Everyone else was helpful and I loved Chantel the nurse. Dr. Collur Surekha was rude, abrupt and a total bitch. I ask ALL people to find another Ophthalmologist that listens and is kind. DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR. I simply asked the front desk to fax the results to my referring doc. They didn't UNTIL my other doctor called and they said " we are closed". I followed up with a lovely call and they were finally send via the EMR system. I just had a full eye exam a year ago. I will find another doctor but this woman was simply rude and unprofessional. Shame on her.
