Great wine bar! Nice small plates if you want a snack, too. Very small and cozy atmosphere.

The waitstaff was rude. They wanted us to leave so they put a reserved sign on the table and then just stood around staring at us. Never saying anything. Such poor customer service.

The bald waiter noticed we were tourists and gave me FAKE change!!! He up charged us... Didn't give us a bill and waited by the table for the money. When we split the bill outselves he offered to exchange 10 in coins my friend gave me for a fake €10 bill. He took the coins and walked away. We only bought two spritz and it was €20. We expected a little bit more for the apertivo but not that much. I ran back when I realized what he'd done and luckily there was an English speaking gentlemen sitting at the bar to help translate the issue. If you go here.. Be careful. They might rip you off because you're a tourist!

Good selection of Italian wines. Eleven Brunello di Montalcino's on the list, including 4 Riserva and a 2010 "Madonna Del Piano". Service a bit cold, hence the 4 stars.

I can't afford to do drinks at Bar Basso on a regular basis, but I want to! This place has delightful small plates with Italian influence. I'd classify it as a wine bar, but there are delicious cocktail options.
The bartenders are knowledgeable and you feel like you're seated in a library of wine the way the storage works with a sliding ladder.
Sweet little spot - good for a date.
