My mother who was single and had 3 children owed them rent for ONE month. After working her ass off, she had enough to pay a week later.
So she called the landlord, Barry Clark, and told him she had the money. He said he was going to come by and pick it up.
The next day we get a knock on the door and it is the marshals here to evict us. We eventually went to court, but only his lawyer was present because Barry was "in Israel."
Even after showing the money to the judge, Hannah Cohen, she decided that even though Barry deceived us, we would still be evicted.
As of right now I am living with relatives after being homeless for 6 months.
