r. Azar appeared on NBC nightly news as the "medical contributer" to talk about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, more appropriately known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. The report narated by Lester for NBC was good. Then came this Doc. Everything she said about the disease is COMPLETELY WRONG. EVERYTHING! It's like she either just showed up and guessed. Or maybe she read a document about CFS/ME from 20 years ago. This disease is most often compared to AIDS, and Multiple Scerosis. She implied there are no tests that can be done - um, wrong! About 20 different biomarkers can be used to help diagnose CFS/ME. She implied that exercise can help - WRONG! Exercise is so debilitating to people - leaving them with severe flu-like symptoms, pain like they were just in a car accident, plus a feeling of being poisoned, and the exercise also causes loss of brain function, and depression. This is due to the toxins that flood the brain and an immune system that can't handle them . . .Anyway, Dr.s take an oath, "First do no harm" - Well too late. This disease has a high suicide rate, and unbelieveable hoplessness. We are dying for acknowledgement and support, and she just put us back years, and she added to the devistation we all feel. Her presentation was heartbreaking, and irresponsible, and unprofessional. If she has the nerve to present soemthing to the NATION that she knows nothing about, how could anyone trust her in private practice? She deserves to be fired from NBC, and she should lose her medical license. Afterall, she probably contributed to the loss of lives last night. She is a disgrace to the medical community. There is no excuse for the harm she just caused.
