Especially if dropping an Avis car at Teterboro airport, this location will ALWAYS add a fuel charge. Because they do this for no reason, Avis customer service will remove the charge. But it is extra work.
Pay attention to your credit card statement. Better yet, use Hertz if able. They have rental counters at Atlantic and Jet Aviation.
