Ive been living here for almost two years. I used to have more positives than negatives, but it has been very challenging to live here at times. So sorry AVA, I have to dish out the negatives:
The construction noise is crazy. They often have permits to work at all hours of the night and morning. If anyone from the leasing office tells you they stop at 5pm or 6 pm, that is untrue. They often work until midnight or later and start at 5am! The biggest building is almost done but there is a whole new building being started directly across 28th Street.
This building also claims to be smoke free, it is NOT. My neighbors have been smoking cigarettes and pot since I moved in and all they do is get a note on their door when I complain. Also, many times there have been people smoking on the rooftop and bringing their dogs along for the ride. I don’t even bother with the rooftop or community spaces anymore…Last weekend someone set up a huge dinner spread on the roof with fancy gold plates and samovars with at least 8 people. This was not a private event either, just what happens every weekend! So rude.
The latest though is we have had no hot water for over a week! They are responsive and are able to temporarily fix the problem, but every morning and evening it’s out again! I can’t wait 45 mins for the water to be fixed or for the above neighbors to start using their water in order to get hot water in my apartment. Just please fix it permanently!
The door staff and maintenance staff is very friendly and they try to help when ever possible; I have no complaints about them at all. But be cautious paying this much money for what seems like a luxury building…it has a long way to go. The staff here is always willing to help if the problem is presented to them but at what point can I stop having all these issues and just enjoy living here? Its exhausting to repetitively complain about the same people and the same issues.
