Owner is dishonest and totally UN-professional. One of the worst cabinet companies in N.J. Don't use them or let anyone you know use them.

It was very interesting to read the previous review. We have nearly the same experience. Beware of Atlantic woodworking and Jim Portelli. The project to much much longer than promised. His inability to measure is unbelievable. Glass shelves, cabinet doors, etc. had to be measured several times. This delayed the project by weeks to months. Towards the end of the project he became rather aggressive and said that if we do not pay him in full before it's completion, he would not complete the job. He even tried to take one of my custom-made drawers as "ransom". Now, several of the cabinet doors don't close and he is no longer returning my calls. I am now forced to proceed in small claims court to recuperate my losses. I will certainly be filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau and on any of the review sites. If people have had a similar experience, I encourage you to reach out to me.

BUYER BEWARE: Per the contract, the project was to take 10 to 12 weeks. It took 6+ months to complete and workmanship was not comparable to others for this price range. He will tell you there were changes and other delays. He doesn't tell you the delays were caused because his measurements were off and openings had to be redone after all trim was completed. Yes, we made changes but only in week 4 and 5
The owner would hold you hostage for a payment outside his payment terms. Quality of cabinets are ok but installation is awful. The backs and bottoms of several cabinets looked like Swiss cheese. Jim will tell you what you want to here but not pull through and then not answer his phone. Punch list is near impossible to get completed properly. He wanted to get paid 100% prior to completing the project and threatened to leave and not finish the project unless paid.
I would not use this contractor again and I would not recommend this contractor.
