When I went in to get a new account I was told that I needed to take a free table with a $10 a month charge on my account. I told them I didn't want it but the guy at the store said it was part of getting a new account and there was nothing they could do about it. I called AT&T customer service when I got home and they told me they had no such policy and to return the tablet ASAP. When I took the tablet back to the store they told me I would have to pay $35 to return it. I then had to get the manager and customer service involved before I was finally able to return the tablet and get the charges off my bill. Super annoying and a huge waist of my time.
