Total scam. Went in for a SIM card and they insisted to charge me $20 cash only. He insisted it was AT&T policy. No receipt. Then I called customer service and they said that was not true. SIM cards are free and they would never insist on cash.

Everything about the way AT&T conducts business is shady.
I asked the sales person what my monthly bill would be. All extra costs and taxes included.
My wording was: "what will the final number be on my bill?"
Her answer was $89.99, with everything included.
This was not true, the bill ends up being $113.04
When calling the company, they offered to downgrade my service so that it would go down to the initial number. What a horrible way to run your business, lying to your customers.
Shame on you AT&T!
(Needless to say, as soon as my contract is up: I will be switching companies.)

Here's the bottom line - AVOID this store at 242 7th Ave - btwn 5th and 4th street- across from John jay HS. Instead, go to the smaller store down the block at 228 7th Ave - between 4th and 3rd. This store is actually an authorized dealer and is owned and run by individuals who are fair and reasonable - who offer excellent customer service. The owners name is Asi and he is very hands-on and passionate about maintaining the integrity of his store and customer relations. This is in direct contrast to the larger store up the block - who are NOT authorized dealers- they are owned by Game Stop i have learned which is why the store is newly renovated - giving them the appearance of professionally.... BUT DO NOT LET appearances fool you - the manager Robert is a not a fair or reasonable person - and his only agenda, evidently, is to obtain the highest commission possible. Although I understand that making money is an essential part of business - the problem is they are treating customers in a shady and unscrupulous matter. * Please note this is the first time I have ever written a google review - but thought it was important to let fellow customers and neighbors know what is going on here. I have details and specifics i could share here but frankly they are too long to write out and perhaps not as important as the over arching takeaway.... STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE! And instead, if you want to deal with AT&T in Park Slope, go down the block to 228 7th avenue where you will be treated fairly!! Good Luck, Josh

Went in for a nano sim, got one with no questions asked for free (as it should be). He told me to call ATT to activate it, maybe because they were busy. Nice and quick.

SCAMMING EMPLOYEES WORK HERE.
This outlet happened to be the first AT&T that I walked into looking for a pre-paid sim card for my iphone.
I was told that I would need to pay a "one-time, $50 activation fee" on top of the $60 and all only in cash.
Weird, right?
I ventured up the street to 99 7th Ave and asked if I could purchase the same plan with a credit card. Of course, no problem. Imagine my surprise when there was no activation fee and when I explained to the proprietor that I'd been asked to pony up an additional fee in cash he confirmed it's an employee attempting scam and skim some cash.
Head the other warnings, this place is a SHAM and SCAM outlet
