Splendid bakery with some quality food. Prices a tad high, service a bit slow, but still worth the visit to enjoy what George has done here. Never had a bad meal here.

Service was A+. I think the young lady name is Alison. The steak egg sandwich was out of this work. Will definitely be back. A little expensive but worth it Thanks

Other reviewers are right on the money: the service can be spotty, but the food has hit the mark for me on a number of occasions. Great brunch spot. So let me paint the bigger picture here for urban explorers and out-of-towners. This is a great compliment to the area's other draws -- an area probably overlooked by most. Visit the Noguchi Museum and Socrates Sculpture park and work the Astor Bake Shop into the mix. If you don't enjoy your day of exploring, then you have my permission to never read another one of my reviews ever again.

I ordered a cake for my girlfriend's surprise birthday party. I was running really late to pick it up and they stayed there another 45 mins after closing time. Thanks to them, I was able to pick it up and surprise her with it. She and other people at the party loved the cake. My girlfriend loved the cake so much that she wants to order another one for her niece's 1 year old birthday. Thanks for your help!!!
