Went here and bought bacon September 30th. I did not notice that the expiration said September 14th. Didn't think anything of it because sometimes a supermarket might miss a few expired things so I threw it out without complaint. I stopped in again on October 5th and the same bacon brand that had expired on September 14 was still in the open refrigerated area right on top like they were hoping someone like me would buy the rest of their stock without noticing. I will only come here of it is an emergency and even then make sure to check the expiration date on everything! Be careful you might get sick shopping here!!

This place stinks.
The only reason they get 2 stars from me is because they carry Milo chocolate mix, which everyone else seems to have taken off their shelves. Other than that, they suck. I have come here occasionally because they're so close and seriously ended up regretting it. NEVER BUY THE MEAT. On every occasion that I have bought meat from them, I have to instantly throw it out when I get home because when I open the package, it smells so bad, and is all brown from rot on the bottom, that I have to take it to the garbage cans outside the apartment building to throw it out. That's even if they have the cut of beef I'm looking for, usually flank or skirt. Normally they don't carry anything too fancy. Forget rib eye or filet mignon, that's not even in any of these people's vocabulary. And if they did, they wouldn't know how to keep any of it fresh anyways. Overpriced at that.
Another reviewer hit the nail right on the head, it's a hood market. Honestly, I think the owner owned a bodega in some hood before this and one day decided "Oye yo I'm gonna open up a supermarket becuz I'm el bodeguero yo!" and decided to open up his hood market in edge of astoria and thought he'd bring the prices up since it was a nice neighborhood. Part of being in a nice neighborhood is having nice stuff, people here know quality, but knowing or learning that is beyond the capacity of the owner(s) here...

Ive been coming to the supermarket for years and the service has been crappy ever since I could remember. They are way too expensive for being a "hood" market and it smells terrible when walking inside. They never have anything you want. Also the meat selection is beyond gross. Its really tiny and the cashiers are nasty! How these people still own this place is beyond me.

Most ghetto grocery store I think I've ever been in. Went in there today and the place was filthy, there were 3 dogs tied to the bars near the front door, and there were two dudes arguing in Spanish on either side of the deli counter for 10 minutes while I patiently waited to have one of them help me with some cold cuts. Yes, they were co-workers.
I placed an order for three things (all Boar's Head): salami, ham, provolone. After watching him cut them all off a single slicer (that's right, no meat and cheese slicer, just the one. Kosher folks need not come by), he handed me my overpriced cold cuts. The thing is, when I got them home and tried them, THEY WEREN'T EVEN BOAR'S HEAD!!!! CHEAP KNOCKOFFS!!! Avoid this place.
