The positives: They took me in for an appointment at the very last minute. I was in and out with a wash, cut, and blow dry in less than an hour. The girl who washed my hair was very courteous -- asked me if I wanted water or coffee. The blow-out was well done.

The negatives: The place was BOILING hot! It was 90 degrees out and it was cooler outside than in the salon -- sweat was literally dripping from my face; they did not turn the air conditioning on! The stylist, Michelle, decided, on her own, to cut more layers into my hair when all I asked for was a trim -- since my hair is normally super-curly, I'm a little worried as to how it will look when I wash the blow-out out. She also embarrassed me by making a comment about my hair.

Would I go there again? Probably not. I would suggest another salon -- there are plenty on New Dorp Lane to choose from.

I went to Artistry Salon after purchasing a LifeBooker special. I believe the girl doing my hair was Anastasia. I should've known she didnt know what she was doing when she made me fold her foils for her to do my highlights. At first she was ok, but then she had another client, which I guess made her a bit frazzled, but at this point I just had to wait so she could finish my hair. After getting washed by Serena (the only one working there that was actually doing a good job) I went back into Anastasia's chair, so that I could get a cut and blow out. I asked her to make a long side bang, with the shortest piece below my eye, and instead she cut almost straight across, and now my bangs are at my eyebrows. I was so annoyed at that point, and she didn't even apologize. My LifeBooker voucher was for highlights, cut, and blow out, but I added a conditioning treatment (which didn't even do much) and additional color in between, and after ruining my hair, they didnt even give me a discount. It was very unprofessional and I will never go into this place again. I never write reviews but I had to let everyone know--STAY AWAY!!! There are so many other salons that are actually worth going to!!!
