Food is expensive but good. Cheese is good. Decor is a bit cheesy but that is appropriate.

I am giving them a one star rating as they are try to cheat on the credit card. Not sure how they manipulated the system but my friend and I split the bill and gave them two separate cards. The printed receipt had the correct, amount, but on the credit card statement, they charged me in full. And charged my friend in full too. Have they been cheating their customers for years? I have been there many times and now I wonder. The food is good, there is always a crowd, so check your online statement against your receipt.

What a rip off! When we made the reservations we were told we had to be their on time. Got there and table wasn't ready, please wait at the bar - for a glass of overpriced wine. Waited 40 minutes to be seated. Ordered our food. First course, potato leek soup - it came in a small cup and was tepid and tasteless. Next came the risotto - also, about a cupful - totally bland. The frozen risotto from Trader Joe's is much better. The main course was a piece of venison which was OK but the sides were ridiculous. I don't even know what it was. Looked like a teaspoonful of loose mashed potatoes - absolutely no taste. Desert seemed ok, very sweet. With wine & tip the bill was almost $200 per person for an extremely mediocre meal. Would never go back.

Tasty French food with great burgers and mac and cheese. Their cheese selection is vast with the usuals like cheddar and brie and unique cheeses.
Service is decent and great atmosphere. Some of the menu items are in the pricy side but a great year every few months.

New management, higher prices, reduced quality. For these reasons, my husband and I will no longer return to what has been one of our favorite restaurants, for years. Gone is the magic and the culinary vision - replaced by new owners who have demonstrated how to ruin a classy and successful NYC establishment. Such a shame. We will miss the Artisinal we once new.
