APM Terminals

This Port Terminal and Global are the worst port terminal in the east coast the worst ,its been days where i spent 4 to 5 hours to get a load , one day i spent 8 hours in only 1 move and in order to get in you really going to spend at least 1 to 2 hours and the employees inside the port are the worst very disrespectful they treat you like crap and nobody cares , this port is the reason why I'm leaving this industry and thank GOD for that.

Where to start on how awful this place is. Lets see if u come in here without a chassis be ready to wait at least an hour for one thats half way decent to come i to the yard. Most times people bring broken ass chassis that sit there forever and never get fixed. If you're coming in with a chassis, load, or empty be ready to wait up to 3 hours just to get up to the phone and talk to the clerk. Ive waited 45+ minutes for them to anwer the phone and take ur move before. Once inside no matter what section you get be ready to wait at least 2 hours to get loaded or unloaded. More times the not the Crane Operator sees u pull in but continues to sit there on his phone until he feels like working. After spending your entire day to get loaded or unloaded now you have to sit in the outbound lane for another hour or two just to leave the damn place. The ILA is a complete joke and needs to be reformed.

There has been days where I spent 8 hours there! Oh and please don't have or need a genset they do a truck every half hour. That place is a joke, employees on there cell phones as if they don't have a job to do.

This place is the worst.i been here for 4 hours to down off a load,not including the 2 hours it took me to come in through the gate.dont bother asking for help.most of the worker's here don't do crap but treat the drivers like crap.idk what's that Jim guy smoking but there's nothing great about this place.

Great place************* great people ***************great cooperation if you have any experience in the industry this is the best place in the industry New York and New Jersey.
If you aren't a wheel beater the staff is very cooperative and will get you in the right place asap. The labor is given a bad rap because the industry as a whole hasn't spent enough money to keep up with the infrastructure due to the new volumes of cargo coming to the area, so some one has to be the scapegoat. Next time you visit ask if they will help you before complaining you will be pleasantly surprised, at least if it's the union labor. All the terminals in the Port of NY and NJ are undergoing major upgrades so equip is scarce but they are doing there best to keep everyone happy and serviced.
