Reviews to Anna Maria's Restaurant
We landed in New Rochelle from Florida quite late, and needless to say we were starving, We were
staying with my niece and knew nothing of the area, but thank God my niece knew of this great restaurant in Launch Mont not too far from where she lived and we got there about 20 minutes later.
The first thing I noticed was the aroma that hit me as I walked through the door! There weren't many people there as I said it was late. But we were welcomed so warmly I immediately felt comfortable.
We were seated in a nice corner round table, and Anna Maria came out to greet us. As I started to apologize for the late hour, she waved it away and said no problem and immediately a waiter showed up with some hot bread and butter and salads were set before us. She said start on that and I will have the waiter come and take your order after you've had time to look at the menu. We were so busy with our salads and hot bread that we didn't take time to really scan the menu. Next a bottle of red and white wine was brought to the table. I was amazed because I didn't hear anyone utter a word. Next there was a dish of pasta with the most delicious sauce set next to each of us.
Now by this time we were coming alive again and sat back to catch our breath and started to select a couple of dishes from the menu, We couldn't get over how so very perfect this place was, the ambiance was so nice and mellow and the service just impeccable. When the Entree's came out we were in awe of how much food there was for us to taste and share. And what was left over! We saw them lock the front door, but still there was no sense of being hurried Just as we thought we better let them go home, Anna Marie came out with new glasses for an after dinner drink on her! and offered coffee or espresso and an offering of dessert. Wow! I couldn't believe the hospitality what a unforgettable night. If there were 10 stars to give I would give it. I would most certainly go back to Anna Marie's anytime I was in NY, as a matter of fact it would be an absolute must! Although it is only a few hours from Florida to NY after working all day and running for a plane it seemed endless.
What a wonderful ending to a hectic day thank you Anna Marie. WE WILL BE BACK!

First thing I noticed about Anna Maria's was the comfortable environment with ample room where you're not sitting right on top of the next person. The menu is very unique and the service is very personable. Anna Maria does a lot of the cooking and has quite a few "signature" dishes. She takes the time to go out and visit with the customers to socialize, get feedback and make suggestions based on what the customer is desiring. Highly recommend and I'm heading back!

We love the food overall, but we especially love anna maria's sauce and pasta that is cooked perfectly. Good food, comfortable setting. The only thing we do not like is one of the waiters that has an attitude & "forgets" (ignores) small requests that most other restuarants normally provide. He will not stop us from eating there, but he needs to be a bit more accomodating & stop making "poor me" faces (hello, bigger tip buddy!) we're surprised he is still there because he might be hurting the business (mabe a relative?)

I went there with a reservation on a Saturday night. My sister had gone there a few times and highly recommended it. I owe her one. We had a very short wait (2 minutes) and were seated promptly. In front of several people who didn't have reservations.. Haha... The place is small. But that only enhances the feel as you can smell what is coming out to other diners. It smells great in there. Our waitress was great, getting us drinks right away. recommending wine, always popping up when we needed her. And it looked like she was the only waitress. This place isn't THAT small. She was good. So. the wine was great. drinks were great. We had some baked clams and stuffed calamari for appetizers. I think they were the best baked clams I've ever had. (clams oreganato ... same thing) I had a steak special which was delicious. Perfectly cooked seasoned and presented. My date had the chilean sea bass which she loved. We also had some after dinner drinks; lemoncello and pear brandy (recommenbded by the waitress... another good job) we also had the orange sorbet. That was really really good too. Served in an orange skin. the way its supposed to be served. It wasn't a cheap dinner. Believe me. But it was worth every penny. 25% tip was the least I could leave and feel good about myself. It was that good. So
If you looking for some stuck up quiet place with overpriced crap this AINT IT. If you want really good food prepared with thought and you want to have a conversation without whispering this is your place.
