Angels In the Gardens Childcare Corp.

My son has been at Angels for 15 months and the experience has been wonderful. Annie has always treated me with kindness and understanding. My son was in another child care program that actually asked us to remove him when he continued to cry 6 days into the program - he was 18 months old at the time. Annie and the staff at Angels have been warm and loving and patient and guess what? He still cries for 3-5 minutes most mornings but they engage him, distract him and care for him and he is happy and excited to tell me about all that he learned each day when I pick him up. I have referred a handful of friends to Angels and they have been satisfied with their experiences as well.

Signed up my daughter in March for the following fall. When August came, we received an intro email - I replied back with basic questions like our choice of which 2 days to attend, and asked if we could bring a stroller, if they need a vaccination form. No reply. For over a month. I re-sent my questions to her with a friendly "making sure you got this :-)" note. Finally of Anna called us a week AFTER school started and asked where my daughter was. I explained we never received a response that we were set for our selected days, nor to the other questions. Anna said she had been really busy, had 3 schools to handle and lots of personal issues. She didn't say it to ask for understanding - she had a "how dare you bother me/ woe is me" attitude. I said we were finding somewhere else since we hadn't even been sure which days to show up. She didn't care, said she still had a waiting list. I asked for my deposit back and she hung up on me. When I called back, she started screaming at me, "sorry I'm not in high school anymore and I didn't reply to your little email! I'm billing you $200 for a cancellation fee and for the week you missed!" It was one of those conversations you wished you had recorded so that you could send it to your friends for some laughs.

Like the other reviewer here, the most shocking thing was how I was spoken to. It was really hostile, I've never heard anything like it as an adult. I'm not a highly emotional person and don't like confrontation. I didn't even want my deposit back until she acted so rudely. I remained calm, stuck to the facts, and was met with crazy ranting. Even if you don't get on her bad side and deal with the screaming, the disorganization of things will drive you bonkers. I don't think she should be working with children.

Please do yourself a favor and do not enroll your child in this school! The management is horrible, beyond rude and all they care about is money, not your children. I have visited this daycare 6 months ago and as in other facilities gave them a check for $150 to keep, which they would cash upon enrollment. I never enrolled my child and yet they still cashed my check and refused to return my money. More than anything it is the way they talked to me. I am scared to think how they treat children if this is how they treat adults. Beware! There are many better options in Forest Hills.
