One of the BEST NYC-style pizza in or out of NYC. Each time I have pizza in NY, I inevitably end up comparing it to Angelo's. I'm in Manhattan every day, in Brooklyn now and then, grew up in Queens, went to school in da Bronx, so I know what I'm talking about.
A friend recommended the place.... I skeptically tried just 1 slice.... and was totally wowed. Crisp crust, balanced & seasoned sauce, ample mozzarella, proper "just shy of well done" cooking..... Kept coming back ever since (for whole pies) .

The pizza is delicious and the service is prompt. As far as local pizza joints go there are few that top Angelo's.

In there all the time, the owner Steve is a great guy. My experience is good food and friendly service.

This used to be my favorite pizza, now it's under new management. I do not like it. The sauce is sweet, the crust isn't thin enough, and it's just not the same. The old Angelo's had a crunchy, bubbly crust, a sauce full of herbs, and delicious, messy cheese. The new Angelo's is ok, a step above Domino's, but that's not a big step. A great slice of pizza should flop down when you hold it by the crust, so you have to fold it and flip it into your mouth. This pizza doesn't do that. I am deeply saddened by the loss of my favorite pizza.
