The amount of appreciation that I have for the staff at Angelina's metro market / fine foods of NYC at LaGuardia airport is immeasurable. Actually one of the few places if not the only place in years that put jelly on my toast just by requesting jelly after they double checked to see if i wanted butter on my toast (for you health nuts that are sneaking in those carbs but don't want the butter fat). To offer such a service, especially to a traveler who you know wants jelly on his toast is so well overlooked. I made a slight alteration to the scramble substituting the onions with spinach and 'no problem' was the response.. no upcharge no stress… Portions? (Like Family)
Anyway, Angelina's appeared in front of me like a glow of heaven through the array of settling semi healthy but mostly unhealthy choices. Waaaaaaaaahhhhh…. as i began to decipher the well stocked fridge full of the healthiest, best brand natural tea and coffee and water and juice and salad and parfait and and and a deli section that looked delightful if you are in to that… I opted for breakfast as their menu was like pure bliss when I glanced up and saw egg whites and spinach and realized it was freshly cooked with care from the ladies behind the counter. service with a smile to say the least in the most pleasant of ways..Fresh spinach and real scrambled egg or egg whites in the airport? wow i was impressed. understand that i understand breakfast and levels to it. my last breakfast was at norma's at the le parker meridian in manhattan. with normas as my gauge for the most incredible of all breakfast rivaling the mgm mansion room service all the heck i praise the vibe of Angelina's during my long lay over. They took pride in ensuring that their part of my La Guardia airport experience was memorable and 5star worthy… I completely recommend this place and do hope that your experience is as delightful as mine….
