You know my experience as a plus sized woman living in NYC has been very difficult. Manhattan really doesn't have as many plus sized stores to go in but alas I can shop for my friends who are thinner.
I however REFUSE to ever shop in this store. Shopping isn't just about the clothes, its about the environment and the experience. I couldn't even step into this store without feeling like I was unwelcome. The first thing you see is this sign that say "We do not carry xl". I wouldn't exactly get bent out of shape over a sign like that but it just didn't make sense why they would put that sign in their store. I mean, regular clothing stores don't all carry xl so I don't believe it necessary to point it out. The only reason I could assume they posted it was because they were tired of seeing curvy women come in there and ask for xl. Which is really what annoyed me. It didnt help that as I walked in I was eyed and someone literally looked me up and down.I didn't go in for myself I was going to buy something for my mother who is a size 6 but once the vibe became negative I decided not to bother. I have issues with clothing stores who insist on pushing away customers especially when they are not a high end designer.
Bottom line, if you are not a small, medium or large, dont go in. Not only do they not carry your size but they actually made the effort to make a sign suggesting as much so you wouldnt even attempt to go into their store. I know someone who actually bought something here and the quality of the clothing isnt even great. The prices may be cheaper than other stores but all you are buying is crap.
