This company had been cheating its expatriates who were working in Suzhou Amerigen. The first case was 2009. One of its V.P (R&D) had to file a lawsuit to get his severance pay. This company was ordered to pay the ex-employee in full by a court in NJ.
I had the same problems with Amerigen.
1) the contract said it should pay me at least 5 month salaries as severance payment. But it merely paid 3 month of salaries, owing me the rest.
2) It added bogus "reward" & bonus around $18,700 that I never received to my w-2, and it never explain it despite I wrote to HR and CFO many times.
3) It use "single status" to calculate my federal INCOME TAX, while I am entitled as" married filed jointly", so that it can maximize my tax obligation to offset its reimbursement obligation of Amerigen for my Chinese income tax.
4) It wrongfully deducted some of my paid home leave.
5) It withheld more than more than $45,000 of my salary as escrow accounts to pay for my Chinese income tax, and refused to return it to me. Instead, it faking a "loan program" that I borrowed from the Amerigen pharmaceuticals. In fact it 100% bogus and it never existed.
I requested their response and explanations to my questions. The acted as a dead beat, bet on that I do not have time to deal with the company. I am now sending the collect e-mails & documents to the company every year to extend the time limit of the issue so that I can sue Amerigen once I have time.
This company also owed China Telecom about $ 50,000 telephone bills and was ordered by a Chinese Judge to repay in full in 2009. Also there were 2 suppliers in China threated to sue Suzhou Amerigen for the P.Os they cancelled in 2010.
As a start up company, the executives hired their daughters and relatives as summer internships to work at Suzhou Amerigen in summer & winter of 2009 . None of these "internship" had any pharmaceutical working experience. (one of them was college freshman, the other one was junior). No one has went through any interviewing or hiring process. It was viewed very negatively by the employees who were working at Suzhou Amerigen. The names of "Internship" can still be found Payroll record of Amerigen.
It was an unbelievable experience that beyond my comprehension.
