From this pier you get a great view of the Verrazano, Staten Island, Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn (especially at sunset). There are picnic tables and tiny tables on the railing for fishermen to use to cut their bait. It's along the 5K run/bike trail so it's a great place to take a break, sit on a bench and people watch.
